1. Scope of This Website
This website provides information about The Local Tab, the services it is preparing to offer, ways for local businesses to participate, advertising opportunities and launch updates.
The separate interactive application that will let people search venues, compare prices and read ratings is still in development. It is not available through this website and will require additional or updated terms before it becomes publicly available.
This website does not offer account registration, paid memberships, purchases, or live venue comparisons and price lookups.
2. Website Information
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes. It describes what The Local Tab intends to offer; it is not a live directory of venues, prices or ratings.
In future, venue information may include observed menu prices, serving sizes, ratings and promotional details. Prices, availability, business hours and specials can change at any time, and community observations reflect a moment in time.
Visitors should confirm important details — prices, hours, specials and availability — directly with the establishment before relying on them.
3. User-Submitted Information
Visitors may submit inquiries, venue and menu information, correction requests and other content through the forms on this website.
When you submit information, you agree that:
- The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge at the time you submit it.
- You have the authority to submit it — for example, that you are authorized to act on behalf of a venue if you are submitting on its behalf.
- You will not knowingly submit false or misleading information, impersonate another person or business, submit unlawful content, or submit material that infringes anyone else’s intellectual property or privacy rights.
The Local Tab may review, decline, edit for clarity or ask for clarification about any submission, and nothing you submit is published automatically.
Submitting information through the inquiry forms on this website does not transfer ownership of your business details or brand materials to The Local Tab. Any licensing terms for the future application — including reviews and content uploads — will be developed and presented separately.
4. Venue Listings and Independence
Standard factual venue listings are intended to be free. Businesses may request factual corrections, but no submission guarantees immediate publication or inclusion.
Advertising is optional.
Paid sponsorships do not purchase better independent ratings, do not allow a venue to set prices that differ from what people observed, and do not entitle anyone to preferential treatment in organic recommendations.
For detail, see our Advertising Disclosure and Editorial Policy.
5. Advertising Inquiries
Submitting an advertising inquiry does not constitute a purchase, a binding sponsorship agreement, a reservation of advertising inventory or a guarantee of placement.
Any future paid sponsorship must be governed by separately agreed terms, deliverables and pricing.
No advertising is currently on sale through this website.
6. Intellectual Property
The Local Tab’s name, logo, design, photography, copy and other original materials on this website belong to their respective rights holders and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Third-party trademarks, venue names, logos and images remain the property of their owners. User-submitted materials remain the property of the people who submitted them (see section 3). Nothing in these Terms claims ownership of those items.
You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute or commercially exploit this website’s original materials without permission, or use them in a way that misrepresents a connection with The Local Tab.
7. External Links
This website may link to external websites and services that are operated independently and have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
Linking to a business does not, by itself, imply endorsement.
8. Availability, Warranties and Liability
We aim to keep this website available and its content accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation. The website may change, be suspended or be unavailable at times.
This website and its information are provided on an “as is” basis for general information. To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Local Tab is not liable for decisions made or losses suffered in reliance on general website content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability, warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest of these Terms continue to apply.
Owner action: The limitation of liability clause, any availability commitment and any indemnification obligation require separate owner and legal review before this page is finalized. No liability cap or indemnification obligation is currently stated.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Please read it alongside these Terms.
10. Changes to the Website and These Terms
The information on this website, and these Terms, may change as The Local Tab develops and as the platform launches.
We will update the effective date when a final version of these Terms is published. These draft Terms are not a binding agreement and do not currently create enforceable obligations for anyone.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
Virginia is the anticipated operating jurisdiction for The Local Tab. The governing law, venue and any dispute-resolution process for these Terms have not been decided.
UnresolvedThis section cannot be finalised until the legal operator is selected and jurisdiction, venue and dispute procedures are approved. No arbitration or class-action provision is included.
Owner action: Confirm the legal operator, then approve the governing-law, venue and dispute-resolution provisions with legal counsel.
